Finger Swelling
A patient came to me with complaints of finger swelling for 6 months and after getting his x-ray and MRI which suggested it was an encapsulated tumor of a finger without involving neurovascular structures, it was sent for excision biopsy which confirmed it as a case of fat cell tumor. Lipomas are usually benign tumors but are space-occupying lesions and can cause mechanical pressure, especially in a small space like fingers. Don't ignore any abnormal swelling and get evaluated especially if the swelling is increasing in size rapidly.
