Knee Ligament Reconstruction Surgery
An anterior cruciate ligament ( ACL) is a ligament in the knee joint that provides stability to the joint and prevents forward translation of the tibia bone while walking. It is torn usually while sporting activity and due to a twisting injury over the knee. ACL reconstruction using Hamstring grafts is a common method of treating this using the Arthroscopic (keyhole) technique. 6 months of staged physiotherapy is a must to achieve full strength and activity.
