Arthroscopic Surgery
What is Arthroscopic Surgery?
These are keyhole surgeries where an endoscope is passed into the joint through a small incision or portal and the surgery is done through that portal or in combination with similar other portals. These require a special skill set and provide early and rapid recovery with minimal blood loss.
A) Knee Arthroscopy- This is indicated for diagnostic/ therapeutic procedures majorly meniscal tear removal/ repair, ligament reconstruction, debridement, etc. ACL tear along with medial meniscus tear is the most common ligament which is injured during contact sports or any twisting trauma over the knee joint and can be managed easily with Arthroscopy.
B) Shoulder Arthroscopy- This is indicated for repairing the capsule around the shoulder, debridement, rotator cuff repair, and diagnostic procedures.
